Temtem

There is nothing original about this - it's a shameless Pokemon rip-off for PC with all the same elements and mechanics. That being said, Nintento never bothered to make Pokemon for PC, so this studio filled the gap and that's fair enough. I'm enjoying playing it here and there, because it's well optimised and really pretty. Some of the Temtem are cute and the animations are all really well made. If you like pokemon, then it's definitely worth playing. Otherwise, it's pretty grindy.

Pros

  • Pretty graphics, runs well
  • Battles are 2v2 which at least makes it slightly more interesting
  • Lots of different "types"
  • Great music

Cons

  • It's online-only, even if you want to play single player
  • There are microtransactions and seasons
  • You can't rotate the camera
  • The developers have refused to add the ability to skip battle animations. The game is already extremely grindy, and this just makes it even more so.
  • The Temtem designs and names are much less memorable than Pokemon, even without the nostalgia value
