Synth Riders

Synth Riders is an excellent music/movement VR workout game. Very similar to the more popular Beat Saber, but totally stands out on it's own with very different mechanics. Instead of standing still slicing blocks with lightsavers, you have to move your arms to touch balls that fly at you in time to music. There's a few different things there like needing to use specific arms again, or holding your arms together, and also sliding along lines instead of always hitting things. Overall, I think it's a better workout than Beat Saber, and comes with excellent music out of the box.

Pros

  • Great list of songs
  • Has a first-party map editor
  • A better workout than Beat Saber as you tend to move your body a lot more

Cons

  • Much smaller modding community for custom songs - 300 maps vs 20,000
  • Although it is a better workout, it feels less impactful simply touching markers and sliding along rails instead of smashing blocks
