Good Company

Good Company is a game about making products and running a factory. It's an odd one - I guess it kind of falls under automation, but it's missing all of the rigid problem solving and logistics of something like Factorio (because Robots always work the same way), but on a far smaller scale and with a very different focus. The campaign is a series of missions where you need to make and sell different products, and you need to work out how to do that within budget, within a limited amount of space and solve problems like how to organise your desks, solve human foot-traffic issues and meet criteria. It's got a lovely art style, and fills quite a small niche.

Pros

  • Cute art; similar to Two Point Hospital.
  • I love the waving hands in the air crafting animation
  • Logistics puzzles to solve
  • Campaign mode
  • Good UI

Cons

  • Biggest ask at the moment is that I need more info about production times. I can't tell how many of something I need to make in the chain of production.
  • I'd like a way to get rid of basic materials. Currently the only way right now is to manually take them somewhere they'll get used or slowly replace stacks.
  • I need warnings about why something's not working - like my shelf not being in range of the logistics point
  • It's a shame you're limited to a base model (calculators for example), but totally understand why. Being able to choose any kind of product would be cool, but there wouldn't be a graphic to go with it then
