I've come back to this game a couple of times now and I'm clearly missing something important, because I've never made it past the first level. The game says to explore rooms, build structures, kill monsters, then pick up the crystal and run for your life. When you pick up the crystal, mobs spawn throughout and chase you to the end, and both my heroes are always killed.
