Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

I recently picked this up to have something to play whilst travelling (before I got the Steam Deck). It's been highly praised all over the place so I figured it couldn't really be that bad. Man was I wrong. I have no idea what people see in this. Maybe it's just because it's on the Switch but the graphics are just awful, movement is clunky, and I feel like I'm playing something from 15 years ago.

Pros

  • There are levels... but I can’t tell if they actually do anything
  • Killing enemies lets you use their abilities

Cons

  • Very Japanese
  • Horrible UI (it has that terrible Times New Roman-esque font that plagues all JRPGs)
  • Clunky movement
  • There's a tiny delay between your attacks
  • Fuzzy graphics
  • Slow movement speed
  • Minor spelling errors
  • Loading screens between pretty much every room
  • Terrible enemy sound effects. The sword thing sounds like a normal man going Aaaahhh
